1.Most Appearances in IPL 

MSD has completed his 205th games in IPL against Delhi Capitals in the second match of Vivo IPL 2021, played on 10th April 2021 Saturday. This is a rare record as very few players have played in every season of IPL with such numbers of games. In 176 matches for CSK, he has a phenomenal strike rate of 138 and an impressive batting average over 40. No doubt he is a crucial player for CSK and one of the most successful captains in the IPL history.    

2.Most Victories as captain in IPL 

Dhoni has managed to lead his team CSK to victory in 110 IPL games, and this is one of the rarest records that could prove forever, which will be difficult to break by any other captain. He has captained in 189 matches till now and has faced 78 losses in his IPL career.

Thala Mahendra Singh Dhoni got his very first as a captain in the very second IPL match of the first season of IPL 2008 against Kings XI Punjab (currently Punjab Kings). It was an excited and memorable match for everyone as both sides were scored over 200 runs. Recently, Dhoni’s most victory also came against the same Kings XI Punjab, but this time CSK bagged the victory one-sidedly.                 

3.Most dismissals in IPL 

There is no match of this former Indian captain and wicketkeeper MS Dhoni when it comes to wicket-keeping. He is exceptional behind the stump surprises many people. His lightning-quick stumpings are unbelievable, and that’s why he is the best wicketkeeper in the era. 

In IPL, he has played a crucial part as a wicketkeeper and contributed to 148 dismissals which is a rare record and the most dismissal as a wicketkeeper. Among 148 dismissals, he managed to did 39 stumpings which is another record. 

He has turned many crucial matches with his outstanding glovework behind the stumps. His best and game-changing stumpings include the dismissal of De Villers in 2017,2018, and Stoinis in 2020.   

4.Most Not Outs in IPL

As a great finisher, Mahendra Singh Dhoni always stretches the game until the last, and that’s why he holds the most not outs in IPL history. Till now, he has an unbelievable record of remained unbeaten on 69 occasions in IPL, which is more than any other batsman.

Usually, in a run chase, MS Dhoni often decides to wait and target the loose balls from specific bowlers at the death when they are under pressure. Most of the time, CSK won matches whenever Dhoni remained unbeaten in IPL games. 

In 2015, he remained not out for ten remarkable occasions, but unfortunately, in last year’s 2020 IPL, he could not finish matches due to bad form and batted lower down the order.          

5.Most sixes by an Indian in IPL
