The game of cricket has been spread popularly and Successfully in every part of the world and especially in India. India is a country from which players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat, and MS Dhoni come forward and rule the cricket game. Indian cricket team always offers chances to the new children who play well in domestic cricket and get a chance to play in the Indian Premier League and in Indian cricket too. There are so many young players who actually perform so well in a sport like a cricket. 

Ishan Porel is an Indian cricket player or an Indian cricketer. He was born on 5 September 1998 and today he is 22 years old. The player has been doing repeatedly well for past few months in domestic cricket which also increases the chances for him to get a golden opportunity call from the Indian cricket team soon. The player hasn’t played any cricket match at the international level till now in all three formats, but it can be said that Ishan Porel is a king of bowling especially when it comes to domestic cricket. 


Ishan Porel made his debut for List A for Bengal state in the year 2016-17 year. The player then only made his first-class debut for Bengal in the year 2017-18 year when he was nearly 18 years of age. He played his first match of Ranji trophy on 9th November 2017. 

Ishan Porel was born in Bengal in Hooghly, nearly more than fifty kilometers away from cricket grounds. The player started his cricket journey in the National sports club which is located in his hometown only. The player basically came to Kolkata in the year 2012 and was a huge fan of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. Ishan Porel first auditioned for batting but all the coaches suggested him to prefer bowling as they somewhere saw a pacer in his skills. 

Ishan Porel also got a golden opportunity to grab in the year 2020 when Australia and England visited In India. He was selected as a fourth net bowler after prasiddh Krishna and Tyagi but his luck was quite bad at that time. The player suffered a hamstring injury because of which the player was not able to join the team. In that series also most every net bowler and batsman got their chance to play in playing eleven except Kartik Tyagi and Ishan Porel because of his injury. 



Ishan’s career have been super flexed in domestic cricket but has not got his luck at international level. In December 2017, Ishan Porel was name in India’s squad for the 2018 Under 19 cricket World Cup. In the same year he was also named in the squad for India red for Duleep trophy . In the next year the player was named in India Green team’s squad for Duleep trophy and again for the next year he was named in India C squad for Deodhar trophy. 

Ishan Porel was further selected for India A tour of New Zealand in January and February and his performances were so great in that series. On 26th October 2020, Porel was also opted for one of the fourth net bowler by BCCI for their tour to Australia but as told above due to injury he was out. In the 2020 Indian premier League auction , Ishan Porel was bought up by the Punjab kings ahead of 2021 Indian premier League. The coaches said that were looking for a great fast bowler who can bat too and Ishan Porel have great pacer skills with aggressive batting style too. 

Ishan grabbed the newspaper headlines with his 4 wickets 17 runs against Pakistan in the ICC under-19 world Cup semi final. Rahul Dravid, The head coach of Under-19 Cricket team said that Porel isn’t quite like Nagarkoti and mavi, he is so brilliant who also gets extra bounce with his amazing bowling style. Porel injured himself in the starting of World Cup but later came back and fought superbly in quarter final replacing Nagarkoti. He impressed everyone by his super awesome spell of five overs just by conceding 8 runs. 


Ishan Porel is a right hand batsman and a right arm medium pace bowler. The player has an amazing height of 6 feet 3 inches which supports his bowling style too. Ishan is weighed nearly around 75 kg which determines that he has an amazing fitness. He has a dark brown eye colour and black colour hair in which the front two flicks are of golden colour. He was the second highest wicket taker at 12 August. The player plays for  the domestic team of Bengal. 


When it comes to income, we all know that Ishan Porel is a youngster who is playing more and more tournaments and getting a well deserved experience. The player is. Not able to earn a good amount by playing cricket till now as he didn’t get any chance to play at international level. The cricketer earns a major part of his income from domestic cricket and from Indian premier League. He also receives a salary from Bengal cricket Association. The player was bought by Punjab kings in 2020 year at a base price of 20 lakh but didn’t get any chance to play. Again in the year 2021, the player was bought by Punjab kings and again at a base price of 20 lakh only. He was not able to make great success in Indian premier League but soon he will make a comeback for sure.
