When it comes to cricket stats no doubt it’s a funny subject if you will compare it with others. The use of statistics by analysts can shed light on previously obscure aspects of the game. While other times, we fight mightily and finally come to the conclusion that statistics don’t always tell the whole story.

Strike rate is a simple metric that can be used to tell two hitters apart, but there are more complex metrics to consider. A batter’s strike rate is a key indicator for determining how quickly he can put runs on the board.

In the early 1990s, the run rate was employed to gauge a batter’s speed in scoring runs. But currently, the strike rate informs us how many runs a batter can score in 100 balls, giving us a good indicator of who can fast score runs.

A.B. de Villiers (152.38)

If fans were asked to name a few foreign players who had given their all in the IPL, AB de Villiers would almost certainly come up. The South African has done a lot with the bat for his teams, but a trophy is still something he is after.

ABD made his IPL debut for Delhi in the first season. In 2011, he relocated to Bangalore, India, where he has lived since. The South African has been the franchise’s beating heart ever since. At times, he has found himself saving the day for the team by himself.

Despite retiring from international cricket three years ago, he’s still one of the league’s most lethal batsmen in 2021. He has 5056 runs in the league with an average of 40.77 and a fantastic strike rate of 152.38. When these two numbers are combined, the result is a T20 batter who can bat wherever in order.

Glenn Maxwell (153.32)

Australian cricket’s ‘Big-Show,’ Glenn Maxwell, is well-known. His moniker derives from a very simple explanation. If Maxwell is on the field for a T20 game, you already know who to watch out for. Even though he makes a lot of money each season in the IPL, the Victorian does not have the finest record, but he has shown the ability to score runs swiftly when needed.

In 2012, Maxwell made his IPL debut for the Delhi Daredevils after impressing Victoria in Australian domestic cricket. The next year, he was signed as a million-dollar free agent by the Mumbai Indians.

Fans will remember him best for his tenure with Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2014. Afterward, he spent all but one season with the team in Delhi, where he spent one season with the Delhi franchise.

He arrived in the Royal Challengers Bangalore training camp in 2021 and had an excellent start to the season. While on the field, his lifetime IPL strike rate of 153.32 is strapped to his back. A large number of purchasers are attracted by his potential to alter the flow of the game, and therefore his price rises and rises.

Virender Sehwag 155.44.

This man appears in every tale of Indian cricket’s great power hitters. Virender Sehwag was one of the few players from the late 1990s and early 2000s who excelled in T20 cricket. While playing county cricket in England in 2003, he was one of only a handful of Indian cricketers to take part in the format.

By the time the IPL began, Virender Sehwag was a household name in Indian cricket and an integral part of the team that won the T20 World Cup. He was dubbed the Delhi franchise’s symbol player and began his tenure with some mind-blowing performances as one would expect from the Najafgarh Nawab.

He was with Delhi till 2013, when he moved to Punjab, where he stayed for two seasons. He played a total of 104 innings and amassed a run average of 27.55 in that time.

The fact that he has a strike rate of 155.44 is only a hint as to how devastating he can be at the plate. Keep in mind that power-hitting was not what it is today when Sehwag began his career. Despite this, he maintained a career strike percentage of over 150 percent, which is incredible.

Hardik Pandya 157.23

Hardik Pandya is one of the players that gained national recognition as a result of his performance in the Indian Premier League. He made his MLB debut with the Mumbai Indians in 2015, going 1 for 4. At the time, he was only a medium-pace bowling all-rounder with a reputation for delivering some lusty smashes into the bleachers.

There wasn’t much anticipation for him, but he delivered in his first season. While playing for the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya smashed an unbeaten fifty against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium, overshadowing Kieron Pollard in the process.

He has developed into one of the most dangerous hitters in the IPL, and no bowler relishes the prospect of facing him. The Baroda all-rounder possesses immense physical strength and is capable of hitting the ball farther than anyone else in global cricket.

He has 1401 runs at an average of 27.47 in 80 IPL innings, but his strike rate of 157.23 is the best in the league. Actually, he has the best IPL strike rate of any Indian batsman with more than a thousand runs in the tournament.

Andre Russell- 179.29

Andre Russell joined the IPL in 2012 when the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) purchased him. In the cash-rich competition, though, his big break came when he was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders for the IPL 2014.

He didn’t make an immediate impact in his debut year, but over time he developed into the franchise’s most valuable player. He is a great utility player for the team, in addition to being a fantastic cricket ball hitter.

The Jamaican all-rounder can also play with the ball and has been a match-winner for the franchise on several occasions. But it’s the rapidity at which he can score runs that sets him apart from many other batsmen in the IPL.

Russell has scored 1680 runs with an average of 29.47 in 68 IPL innings. In T20 cricket, these are respectable stats, but his strike rate of 179.29 is well behind that of the second-best player. In the IPL, he is one of the rare batsmen who has hit more sixes than fours.
